The Samatha and Vipasana meditation.

The Samatha and Vipasana meditation:-

Topic: Buddhist Meditation.
The theory of Buddhist meditation aims at practicing right concentration or samma Samadhi or and right mindfulness or samma sati according to Dhammachakkpavatana sutta said  to the eightfold path moral purity must be practiced before one goes for meditation practice. Right concentration is not possible without moral purity which cleanses impure deeds, words and thoughts buildings a right livelihood.
Unless one can’t observe the three doors and its activities it is difficult for practitioners to contemplate on one’s own mind which is far more faster than these three doors. When the mind is observed, concentrated, we understand the nature of things such as impermanent, suffering, and non-self, interdependent origination, and cause and effect which is called wisdom or panna.
The main aim of Buddhist meditation is to purify the mind of all negative tendencies such as greed, anger and delusion. When all negative tendencies are removed, the mind will be freed from suffering.
Two kind of meditation:
Samatha( tranquility)meditation is the concentration of the tranquil and peaceful mind. It involves the very controlled or mindful action of holding the mind to an object, and does not allow the  mind to wander. The mind remains completely still, like a stilled candle, neither flickering nor fluttering. This is the nature of tranquility meditation. when this happens, the mind becomes very peaceful and powerful, because it is a concentration of pure states of mind.
To practice samatha meditation it needs a place, specific object, time and teacher to guide practitioners. Traditional meditative poster is lotus position with crossed legs. The important thing is to be able to sit still, with the back straight and erect, for the full period of meditation. If the poster is too much painful, then one can sit on stool or chair.
It is natural to arise the pain when we sit for long time but mediator is suggested to focus on meditation object. Without attaching or disliking the pain, we have to understand the law of cause and conditions. The nature of pain or distraction; all such phenomena arise because of causes and conditions, persist for a moment, and then pass away. They are natural events and do not being to the mediator. The length of meditation depends on each individual. It depends on how long practitioner can be concentrated.
According to book said the gate way of samath is listening to the instruction that is suitable to bring the knowledge of truth and contemplating on them.
Vipassana (insight) meditation is different. It does not just involve holding the mind still. It also involves penetrative observation. This kind of penetrative observation, without any thinking, without any conceptualization, allows the mind to realize the nature of things as they really are, things like the conceptualization, allows the mind to realize the nature of things as they really are, things like the nature of our mind and body processes, the nature of the person and the nature of the world. With the realization of the nature of existence, the mind realizes the true nature of things.
Consequently, the mind becomes purified. In the process, the mind transcends everything, it transcends conceptual reality, it transcends conditioned reality and finally it goes into absolute reality, which is the unchanging state. After much practice, it is this that experienced by the mind.
In Vipassana meditation the calmness and concentrative ability forget in samatha are used to inquire penetrative into the true nature of things. Intense observation and analysis of phenomena encountered will, according to the class is texts reveal that all are subject to suffering, impermanence and non-self. It develops the vision of impermanence that everything that arises passes away and is not self. That is not more head knowledge at a deep existential understanding that is at once purifying and liberating. More positively, we attain the Nibbana.
According to book said the entrance for the Vipasana is mindfulness of the intake, expiration of the breath and imaging ugliness. Above mentioned are mainly taught in the basic vehicle teachings. According to the Ratnamegha Sutra says the Samatha is a single pointed mind. The Vipasana is an analytical wisdom.
